- not for beginners! Review by Phillip
Lovely photos; and lots of photos, but no dimensioned drawings! Come on, how's a beginner supposed to know how big to make the keys, for instance? Or he's supposed to guess at the overall shape ? Not a thorough presentation. Could be that they are concerned about competition?

- Great beginners book Review by Tim
Being a beginner in trying puzzle boxes, I thought this book was an excellent choice for me.
Ordering online and not being able to "thumb through" the pages usually means you are taking a chance the book will be useful to you. This book was made to order for a beginner. Every page has full color pictures, usually several of each step.
This book will give you the basics and a few projects to make. I would not hesitate to branch off on my own design now since I know how these boxes work and the basics.
The only thing I didn't like was where a few steps didn't have pictures of the cut after it was made, or exactly where it was made, so you could see what that piece looked like off the box.
Overall an excellent book and I would recommend it to any beginner who has an interest in making puzzle boxes.
